How Much do I earn??

For every rupee I earn, I pay 30 paise as tax (30%). When I take that 70 paise to a retaurant, I can only buy stuff worth 50.4 paise as I have to pay 20% VAT and 10% service charges.

So that means that the can of Guinness that I thought was 350 bucks actually cost me 700 bucks of my earned salary!!!

And tip? Or is one supposed to skip that if they levy service charges?

They levy service charge because they think people do not tip enough!!

All the taxes/charges included here are the ones that the eating joint or the government force me to pay. Tip is something that is my option or judgement on service.

Ok thats just fucking depressing dude! How'd you like (or dislike) the Guiness though? Its an acquired taste, so don't knock it until you've tried it at least twice. Goes great with a sandwich though.

Guinness was good. It was just the racist manager at Q'ba that bugged me. He was licking balls of the Italian guy on the next table and when I wanted better seats he said that all tables were reserved (in a fucking empty restaurant). I asked for the bill and immediately moved to the next place.

Few things about Guinness that I distinctly remember were that it tasted like black coffee and I felt so full and non hungry after drinking it. Good. And 700 bucks :(

Q'Ba has gone all suck fest in the nights now, white ball licking being the staple now.
Try the small-ish place inside Piccadelhi.

Goes BEST with fish. And I've always found it a more food drink than anything, fills you right up.

So every rupee your company pays you, it actually costs them 2 bucks? No wonder companies think I am not worth it.

No No.... The other way round.... For every rupee company pays me, I get to spend 50 paise.

look at the bright side - you are supporting 100 days employment of rural folks, 7 generation roti-kapra-makaan of MPs and MLAs and bureaucrats and police etc...

The Goverment is grateful to you :-)

I just wondered what if companies start to think on the same lines about their earnings.

Mine is worse. I would be paying 42% taxes coz I would have to pay 12.x% service tax to the government as well... now calcule how much a bottle of beer costs me ;)
